Excessive variation of key processes is a major problems for most business sectors but none more so than the Aerospace sector where consistancy is vitally important to guarantee safety of critical components

This case study used Six Sigma tools and techniques to determine the root cause of the variation in measurment of the Aerospace components. Once these causes were quantified and understood it was possible to implement the necessary process changes that would enable a more consistant process in line with the customer specification.
