Textiles Sector

The textiles sector is a very competitve market and this case study provides an insight into the issues faced by organisations in Sri Lanka. This particular case study focused on the problems of unbalanced workstations and resulting high inventories in the form of WIP within the value stream.

Through a team focused approach it was possible to use Lean techniques to facilitate the necessary changes to the culture and internal processes to enable operational excellence within the business. Overall the benefits in terms of productivity were significant.
